Justin Barcia wins Atlanta SX.

Justin Barcia made it two wins in a row with an exciting flag-to-flag victory on his GEICO Powersports Honda at round eight of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series East Lites Championship in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett kept things interesting by keeping Barica in range in case anything happened to the defending champ. Baggett ran second for the entire distance and was just over two seconds behind Barcia at the finish.

Oklahoman Justin Bogle grabbed his first-ever podium with a come-from-behind third place finish, the GEICO Powersports Honda rider also getting his first heat race win earlier in the day.

Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen had a disappointing main event after getting caught up in the gate when he jumped the gun at the start. The 17-year-old MX2 World Champ from Germany did an impressive job of working his way through the pack to finish sixth.

Fourth went to Rockstar Suzuki’s Blake Wharton, with Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Darryn Durham finishing fifth.

After two rounds of the East Lites series, Barcia holds a 12-point lead over Durham, 50 points to 38, while Wharton is another two points back in third.
