Husqvarna Rallye Team by Speedbrain’s Paulo Goncalves has been stung by the news that he’s been slapped with a six-hour penalty (yes, six hours) for allegedly receiving outside assistance during stage eight.

According to his team, Goncalves got stuck in a mud hole during the stage and then he suffered a broken drivetrain. The team says that Sherco’s Frans Verhoeven reported that Goncalves had received outside assistance and the jury then handed down the penalty.

The team’s best hopes now lie with Joan Barreda who was fifth today in stage 11. He is 11th overall.
