AMA Grand National Championship Back To Arizona

Jean Turner | January 9, 2012

The hole in the AMA Grand National Championship schedule between the two season-ending rounds in California has been filled today with AMA Pro Racing announcing a round at USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona for October 6.

That means the series will venture from the Santa Rosa Mile in Santa Rosa, California, to Tucson and then back to California for the series finale on October 13 at the Pomona Half Mile.

The AMA has raced at USA Raceway, a 3/8ths mile track, before with the series visiting the facility in 2007. Jake Johnson won the first night with Kenny Coolbeth winning the Grand National Championship the following night with a second-place finish behind Joe Kopp.
