2012 AMA – Big 6 – West Coast Grand Prix Series

The Big 6 is pleased to announce the addition of a Semi Pro / Sportsman Specialty Race to the already popular Big 6 Grand Prix Series.

 

This exciting new Specialty Race series will be named the 2012 AMA – Big 6 – West Coast Grand Prix Series.

 

There will be a total of eight rounds corresponding with the dates and locations of the 2012 Big 6 Grand Prix Series.

 

The series is designed to provide an opportunity for those individuals or teams seeking great venues, a high level of competition and extended races.

 

Each race of the eight race series will offer a guaranteed minimum purse of $2,000; $1,000 to the Pro class and $1,000 to the +30 Pro class. Trophies will be awarded to the top 33-1/3 % of the Sportsman classes.

 

Factory Honda, KTM and Husqvarna have already committed their participation and other manufacturer and high-profile race teams are expected to follow. Big 6 will be awarding the prestigious Manufacturers Cup to the winning motorcycle brand.

 

Big 6 hopes to add to its current popularity and attract new riders, spectators and fans with this new series.

 

Races will be held on Sunday afternoon and will be 1 hour – 45 minutes plus a lap.

 

There will be four classes: Pro, +30 Pro, Sportsman and +30 Sportsman. The Sportsman class will be open to amateur, intermediate and novice riders. The race will not be open to Beginners.

 

You will need a valid AMA license and proof of age and skill level to participate.

 

The new race is open only to full size motorcycles with a minimum of 112 cc and 21″ front and 18″ rear wheels.

 

And new for this race series only, Promoting Club members will be able to participate for money and/or points in their own events.

 

Entry fees for this event will be $100 for Pros and $60 for Sportsman.

 

The Big 6 is using a new point scale system for this series designed to keep the overall race standings close throughout the series.
