Davies Wins Sportsman Award In Wales

Chaz Davies has been named 2011 BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year as the result of a public vote. The 24-year-old became the first Welshman to win a World Supersport Championship in 2011.Davies beat boxer Nathan Cleverly, hurdler Dai Greene, triathlete Helen Jenkins, and Paralympian Nathan Stephens to earn the honor.
Davies previously won the BBC Wales Young Sportsman of the Year in 2005. He is currently in Southern California training for a few weeks with fellow racers Cal Crutchlow and Josh Hayes.Davies is the second Brit to win the World Supersport title, following Crutchlow’s title in 2009.Davies will race an Aprilia in next year’s World Superbike Championship.
