Benny Solis has signed a deal that will see him join Cory West on the RidersDiscount.com Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R 600s in the 2012 AMA Pro Racing Daytona SportBike class for 2012 after the two teams announced yesterday that they were joining forces.
Solis, who finished second in the AMA Pro SuperSport West Series last year on a Honda CBR600RR, tested the team’s Suzukis recently at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama.
“As soon as I got on the Suzuki I had a really good feel for it,” Solis said in a team release. “I was able to push and I really liked the bike. We worked on getting the set up closer to where I liked it and although we didn’t have it 100 percent, I was still able to beat my race pace lap times from this last season so that was a plus on my side. I’m excited to get more time on the bike because I know I can go much faster and I can get it closer to where I really like the feel. 2012 will be a good season for us.”
Breeann Poland has also joined the RidersDiscount.com Vesrah Suzuki team at team manager, assisting team owner Mark Junge in a move that will allow him to concentrate his efforts more on the technical side of the team.”I have been impressed by Benny’s riding after watching him compete against the team last year,” Junge said. “I am really looking forward to working with him and getting the RidersDiscount.com Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R 600 set up for him and seeing what he can do with it. All three of my team riders for next year are looking strong and I am ready to get to the track – bring on Daytona in March.”
