With a force of 10,000 sworn officers at his command and responsible for a budget of over one billion dollars, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck has to be the most successful failed professional motocross racer in the history of the sport. Realizing early on that he would never be fast enough to race bikes for a living, Charlie sucked it up and went with “plan B” – following his father into law enforcement.
