MotoGP 2012: Schedule Released

The two U.S. rounds of the MotoGP World Championship will be held three weeks apart without a trip back to Europe in between; the season will again start in Qatar and end in Valencia; and the German Grand Prix won’t be held in Sachensring. Those are the main points of today’s release of next year’s provisional MotoGP World Championship by the FIM and Dorna.American race fans will find the Red Bull United States Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will be held on July 29 with the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway set to run on August 19 – three weeks later. The MotoGP paddock will be pleased to know they don’t have to return to Europe between the two rounds like they did this year when they raced in the Czech Republic between Laguna and Indy.The German Grand Prix, scheduled for July 8, won’t be held at the Sachsenring in 2012, though the replacement circuit has yet to be named.The 18-race series will again start under the lights in Qatar on April 15 before venturing to Spain for Jerez on April 29. From there things stay the course, until the series hits U.S shores. The only other major change is that Malaysia and Australia have flopped with the Malaysian GP set to take place on October 21 with Australia a week later on October 28. This year, the series goes to Australia on October 14 before going to Malaysia a week later.The 2012 series schedule is as follows:April 15 – Doha/Losail, Qatar

October 21 – Sepang, Malaysia

October 28 – Phillip Island, Australia

November 11 – Valencia, Spain
