According to Justin Barcia’s Twitter page, the West Lites Supercross Champion won’t be racing Saturday night in the EnduroCross round in Ontario, California, after Honda decided it wasn’t the best of ideas… Here’s what his Twitter said: “Sorry everyone i will not be able to race the endurocross Honda thinks I am not ready haven’t had any practice/testing yet i am super bummed.”

West Lites Supercross Champion Justin Barcia says he’s going to give this weekend’s AMA Endurocross at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California, a try.

“The team and I have been training just up the road,” Barcia said. “We decided that since we were in town we’d come check out the races and cheer our teammates on. I just said hey, ‘I want to give this a try,’ so our guys made a few calls and I’m going to race Saturday.”

Barcia said he’s excited about this new adventure.

“I’ve seen these races on TV before and the tracks are pretty gnarly,” Barcia said. “I will definitely be talking with the rest of the GEICO Honda guys to get some tips. I really expect to have a lot of fun racing against the best guys in Endurocross.”

Barcia will be riding a GEICO Honda along with GEICO Honda Team Endurocross regulars Geoff Aaron and Kyle Redmond.

The race is on Saturday, September 17. Practice begins at 10 a.m. PDT with qualifying starting at noon. The main event gets under way at 7:30 p.m.
