Unadilla National MX: Check Out Our Coverage

With three races left on the schedule, Ryan Villopoto took a huge step towards securing his first 450 outdoor title by taking a clean sweep at the famed Unadilla Valley Sports Center in New York Ð the ninth round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Series in New Berlin, New York.

Having taken over the series points lead from Chad Reed at Washougal two weeks before, the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider came into the New York race with a slim, one-point lead in the standings over championship rival Ryan Dungey. Dungey was on a roll, however, the Rockstar Makita Suzuki rider having won the previous two rounds of the series, and Villopoto was in need of a spark to gain back some of that momentum. Fortunately, a spark came in the form of the 2012 KX450F, which the newly crowned Supercross champ made the decision to ride at Unadilla after testing it the Monday after Washougal. According to Villopoto, the new bike was “way better” than what he had been riding before and after running away with both motos in New York, the red-headed moto star left town with a more comfortable seven-point lead in the title chase.For the complete story, click on the link below and you’ll be directed to the full story in our latest digital issue of Cycle News…
