Indianapolis Motor Speedway Revs Up for Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is going all out to make sure race fans will have plenty of diversions at next weekend’s Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix.”IMS After Dark” will provide a party atmosphere and entertainment once the action on the track stops. Crash, the band led by James Toseland, the two-time World Superbike champion and current BMW Motorrad World Superbike rider, will play from 7:15-8:15 p.m. Friday on the Red Bull Energy Station Stage. Appetite For Destruction, a premier Guns ‘N Roses tribute band, will be on stage from 8:30-10 p.m.Three national acts will take the Red Bull Energy Station Stage on Saturday. Acoustic pop/freestyle artist Kelley James will open the evening of music at 6:30 p.m., followed by in-demand DJ Mick Boogie. Unique electro-rock band Ghostland Observatory will begin its pulsating performance at 9 p.m. Fantastic fireworks displays will take place between the bands’ sets Saturday evening.The very popular Riders for Health auction will take place at 5:00 p.m. Friday next to the main stage in the IMS infield, with all riders interviewed and many offering donations. The Pit Walkabout, which allows fans to see up-close the incredible prototype machines of MotoGP, will take place from 5-6:45 p.m. Saturday. Yamaha riders Jorge Lorenzo, Ben Spies, Colin Edwards, and Cal Crutchlow will be interviewed during the Yamaha Rider Q&A at 5:45 p.m. Saturday on the Red Bull Energy Station Stage in the IMS infield.Motorcyclists will be able to park their motorcycles in the center of the action on the new Main Street in the IMS infield for the first time, creating a social hub among riders. Main Street features a variety of activities, including music, motorcycle competition and fashion.General admission tickets are just $10 Friday and $20 Saturday. The expanded schedule will create even better value for fans, with more than 12 hours of action and excitement on and off track each day at IMS.The very popular Vendor Marketplace in the Gasoline Alley Garages will be open all weekend and enthusiasts also can check out the newest models of off-road and street motorcycles from major manufacturers at the Manufacturers’ Area.The full complement of MotoGP classes, MotoGP, Moto2 and, for the last time ever, the 125cc class-next year it will be replaced by Moto3-will be joined by the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 series.
