The top four men in the AMA Superbike Championship – Blake Young, Josh Hayes, Tommy Hayden and Martin Cardenas – completed a two-day Dunlop tire test today at Daytona International Speedway. The four factory stars were joined by Daytona SportBike riders Josh Herrin and Dane Westby and Superbike rider Chris Ulrich at the test with the Superbike men using the 2.9-mile short course while the SportBikes used the longer 3.51-mile course.

“We really didn’t get to test a whole lot with the [bikes],” Hayes said in a release issued by the Speedway. “We’re primarily here to [test] the tires. We did a few laps, made a few setting changes early on, and from that point we had limited track time and a lot of tires to run through. We came here to do our work and earn our keep. I can’t think of a better job.”The 71st Daytona 200 will be held on March 17 in 2012.
