Coghlan Set For Laguna SportBike

Press Release | July 19, 2011

The following is from Race Tech…Race Tech’s Road Race suspension tuner Lenny Albin is excited about the upcoming AMA Pro event at Laguna Seca. Coming off two victories last weekend at Mid-Ohio, Lenny is ecstatic with Race Tech’s Rider Support performances thus far this year. Just recently in the AMA SuperSport East class, Hayden Gillim took his first AMA Pro victory and credits Race Tech suspension with helping him get to first place. From the podium Hayden credited the fact that he “had some rear tire left at the end of race 2 so he was able to run down Rispoli to take the win!”

A surprise late entry for this weekend’s event is Kev Coghlan who will be joining Team Aussie Dave Racing at Laguna Seca in the AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike class. Kev is a Scottish rider running in the Moto 2 Championship series. The last time Kev was here he finished 5th on the Aussie Dave Racing Yamaha R6 at Daytona in 2009. This weekend at Laguna he will be riding the R6 again for David Anthony and hopes to race inside the top-5.

In the XR1200 class, Race Tech suspension has taken victories in 3 races and sponsors two of the top-3 racers in the points standings. Championship Points leader Chris Fillmore looks to extend his points lead this weekend. With three rounds remaining Kyle Wyman sits 3rd in the points chase and hopes to earn a victory before the season ends.
