ELKHART LAKE, WI, JUNE 5 – Harv’s Harley-Davidson’s Travis Wyman skipped the podium ceremonies after finishing a shadow third in the Vance & Hines XR1200 race, jumped on his Yamaha YZF-R6 and, in his first Supersport race of the season, raced to his first AMA professional victory in the West SuperSport final at Road America.Latus Motors Racing’s Dustin Dominguez finished second in his first ride on the Triumph 675R .230 sec. in front of LTD Racing’s Tomas Puerta (Yam). The early parts of the race promised an exciting finish, but it wasn’t to be. After much sorting out among the leaders, and a few critical crashes, Wyman took control in the second half of the race and really stretched his legs in the final few laps. What was once a pack that would shuffle infinitely along the front straight became a one rider parade.

Wyman had 1.373 secs. ending the eighth lap, more than twice that on the ninth and cruised to victory with 4.046 secs. in hand.Wyman’s victory had less impact on the championship than the finishes of a few others. LTD Racing’s David Gaviria (Yam), Saturday’s winner, crashed on the opening lap, taking Red Bull/Roadracingworld.com/Erion Honda’s Benny Solis with him. Then on the fifth lap, Vesrah Racing’s Corey Alexander, last week’s winner at Miller Motorsports Park, lost the front and took out James Rispoli (ANT-Racing Suzuki) entering the slow left hand Bend. The end result was that Gaviria, despite gaining no points, still leads the West championship with 123 points, while Solis, who remounted to finish 16th, is second with 117. Alexander finished a lap down in 17th, but still got four points and sits third with 105.Elena Myers (SuzukiScoopFans) used the power of her class-leading GSX-R600-it topped out at 156.440 mph-to lead early and finish fourth. Ricky Parker was fifth.
