Hot on the heels of Jason DiSalvo winning the first three rounds of the AMA Daytona SportBike class at Daytona and Infineon Raceway on his Ducati 848, AMA Pro Racing has thrown some weight at the V-twins.

According to a competition bulletin posted yesterday on the AMA Pro Racing website, twins in the Daytona SportBike class and the Supersport class must now weigh 385 pounds – up five pounds from the previous rounds. And to help the four-cylinders even more so, those bikes get to lose five pounds – going from a minimum weight of 360 pounds to 355 pounds in both classes. Triples also get a break with the weight on those dropping from 370 down to 365 pounds.
