John Hopkins made history a few weeks ago when he became the first American to win a British Superbike Series race. Hopkins, who races for the Samsung Crescent Suzuki squad, beat Kawasaki-mounted Stuart Easton and World Superbike and MotoGP veteran Shane Byrne in race two of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park. The win was not only his first in the British series in just his fourth race; it also ended a personal winless streak that dated back to an AMA Formula Xtreme win some 10 years ago.
