No rest for the weary: After his worst weekend of the young World Superbike season, Carlos Checa went testing, the Spaniard and his Althea Racing Ducati team heading to Misano for two days. The result – the best time of the this morning on the final day.Checa turned in over 140 laps in two days, ending with an unofficial Superbike lap record of 1:34.8.The team will return to Misano, June 11-12, for the World Superbike round there.

“We have worked well, concentrating on both chassis settings and electronics, as well as on the tires, of course,” Checa said in a team release. “We have found a good set-up for the Misano race and have also identified a few things that could be useful at Miller too. This morning the track conditions were good and I was able to lap very fast with a qualifier. Then this afternoon, although the track was slower, I found good rhythm with the race tire. Let’s say I’m satisfied. I’ve got good sensation back again; after Monza, a really difficult round for me, I’m happy to have been able to come here and be competitive once again. I’m very pleased.”
