Robert Wins Havasu WORCS

| March 28, 2011

Taylor Robert, on the Monster Energy Kawasaki, won both legs of the World Off-Road Championship Series round in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, March 26-27. Robert opened the weekend’s racing with a win on Saturday and backed it up with another win on Sunday, securing the overall victory.

Robert had to work his way up to the front on Saturday, finally passing Bobby Garrison, on the Maxxis Kawasaki, before riding off with the win. Garrison took second, followed by Kyle Summers, Kurt Caselli, Mike Brown, Justin Soule, Robby Bell, Colton Udall, Jamie Lanza and Ryan Abbatoye, who completed the top 10 overall.

It was back to business again on Sunday, and it was again Garrison and Robert mixing it up at the front. Garrison was the early leader but couldn’t hold Robert back for the entire one-hour race. Once Robert got in front, he pulled out a 30-second lead to take his second win of the weekend. Garrison finished second, followed by Brown, Caselli and Soule.

After three stops on the 2011 tour, Garrison still holds the points lead but not by much. Only two points separate Garrison from Robert. Eleven points back in third is Caselli.
