AMA Flat Track: Enter Early And Save

Press Release | January 27, 2011

The following is from AMA Pro Racing…

AMA Pro Racing Flat Track officials announced today that by pre-entering for the 2011 AMA Pro Grand National Flat Track season, teams can receive significant savings and bypass the usual entry and registration activities at each event. In a further accommodation, the event withdraw policy has been changed as well.

Competitors in Expert Twins can save $700.00 by entering the races on a Pre-Entry basis, which means entering the event prior to the posted entry deadline. In Expert Singles, competitors will save $400.00 by pre-entering for the eight event schedule, and in Pro Singles, competitors will save $1,100.00 over the course of their 22 race season.

Not only will this method save money, but it will also allow the teams more time to set up and prepare for the races, as they will be able to bypass the at-event entry and registration process. Pre-Entry will also enable rider’s entries to be listed on AMA Pro Racing’s website for each race, as well as inclusion in each event promoter’s advance race information, offering added exposure for riders and teams.

In addition, the entry cancellation fee procedure has been modified. There is now a set pre-event cancellation fee, and if multiple events are canceled at one time, the new cancellation fee will be applied on a one-time basis. A more detailed explanation is provided below.

ENTRY CANCELLATION: When an Entrant submits an Official Entry Form and the entry is accepted, the Entrant becomes obligated to attempt in good faith to compete in the event to the best of his or her ability. If written notice of withdrawal from any scheduled event is received by AMA Pro Racing registration or the home office prior to the first official practice for the referenced event, the entry fee will be refunded minus an administrative processing fee as follows: Pro Entries – $15.00 cancellation fee, Expert Entries – $25.00 cancellation fee. For example, if you have entered five events and submit a written cancellation for four events prior to the first official practice session for the first scheduled event you are cancelling, there will only be one administrative processing fee incurred as the refund for all four cancelled events will be processed at one time. However, if each event is cancelled on an individual event by event basis, an administrative fee will be incurred each time that a refund is processed. Failure to make such written notice of cancellation prior to the first official practice for the referenced event will result in forfeiture of the entire entry fee for the referenced event(s). There is no provision for transfers or credits.

“In an effort to provide more efficient service for our competitors,” said Dan Johnsen, Director of Flat Track, “we hope they take advantage of this new policy. Not only will it save our teams’ valuable money, but time as well, which on a busy race weekend can be very important.”

Entry forms are available at www.amaproracing.com under the Competitor Information section of the website. The schedule and all pre-entry deadlines are posted within this information.
