Peters, Bogle Grab Titles At Mini-Os

Today wrapped up the supercross portion of the competition at the 39th Annual Thor Winter National Olympics, presented by Pro Circuit, at Gatorback Cycle Park in Gainsville, Florida, and Kyle Peters, Justin Bogle and Brad Frace continued to impress in the A classes. Peters ended the day with two titles, while Frace and Bogle each claimed one.Peters got his titles in the 250 A Pro AM Stock and Open A Pro AM Stock divisions, grabbing holeshots on his Yamaha in both mains and going virtually uncontested to beat out heavy hitters like Bogle and Frace. In the 250 race, Peters topped Kawasaki’s Frace and Suzuki rider Landon Currier, and then topped Kawasaki’s Justin Starling and Honda-mounted Bogle to win the Open race.Bogle, on the other hand, struggled with starts all day except for the race he won – the 250 A Pro Am Mod main event, where he nailed the start and checked out big time ahead of second and third place finishers Frace and Starling. The newly signed Factory Connection/Amsoil/Honda rider, who was making his A-class debut in Florida, seems to be following in the footsteps of Eli Tomac, Trey Canard and Justin Barcia, who all signed with FC while still amateurs. In the Open A Pro Mod class, Frace came on strong, taking the win and the title over Bogle and Peters. In the SuperMini 12-15, Honda’s Cooper Webb edged Suzuki rider Dakota Alix to take the title, and then added the SuperMini 14-15, once again beating out Alix.Travis Preston (Yam) won the Plus 30 class, beating James Evans (Kaw) and Barry Carsten (Suz). The motocross portion of the competition gets underway on Thursday.
