McWilliams qualified eight for the 2006 on the XBRR and ran as high as seventh in the early going. But he was knocked out of the race by a mechanical issue on the 38th of 68 laps.

McWilliams also raced at Infineon Raceway, Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio, and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, where he carded a season best eighth on the XB12R.”I have had an awesome season riding my Warr’s XR1200 and winning the championship was our goal,” McWilliams said in a press release. “For sure I am excited about returning to the AMA paddock and cannot wait to fire up that XR1200 for the final round of the Vance & Hines XR1200 series. Barber Motorsports Park looks like a truly fantastic track.”
