Press Release | August 26, 2010

The following is a press release from Rockstar Suzuki…Rockstar Energy Suzuki is happy to announce that 2010 Amateur Motocross Champion Ian Trettel will be racing the team’s RM-Z250 for the final three Nationals of the 2010 AMA Pro Motocross season. “I look forward to seeing Ian compete at the professional level,” said Rockstar Energy Suzuki Team Manager Bill Keefe. “Ian has put in strong and consistent performances in the past two Amateur Championship events, and they have earned him the opportunity to ride in the pro ranks.”

Ian is moving up from the championship-winning Rockstar Makita Suzuki Amateur program, after a very long and successful career as a Suzuki amateur rider. At this year’s events in Ponca City and Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, Ian garnered two championships and a pair of runner-up finishes. “We’re proud to see Ian take the next step to race in the pro class, and wish him the best,” said American Suzuki Motor Corp.’s Amateur Race Support Manager Pat Alexander.

In preparation for his move to the pro class, Ian put in some testing time aboard the Rockstar Energy Suzuki RM-Z250 at the team’s test track in California. “I think this team is going to be a great fit for me,” said Trettel. “I’m feeling very comfortable on the bike, and I’m excited for this opportunity to finish out the season with Rockstar Energy Suzuki.”

Ian’s first race will be the upcoming Rockstar Energy Southwick National in Southwick, MA. Look for Ian and his #990 Rockstar Energy Suzuki RM-Z250 to mix it up with the rest of the pro class!
