Testing Under Way At Barber

Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Tommy Hayden led the first session of the two-day test at Barber Motorsports Park this morning in Alabama, the winner of one of last weekend’s American Superbike doubleheader rounds clicking off a 1:25.474 – over half a second quicker than the rest of the 10 Superbikes currently testing.Hayden’s best led Graves Motorsports Yamaha’s Josh Hayes by .699 of a second, the winner of the other Superbike race at Road America in the 1:26s at 1:26.163. National Guard Suzuki’s Jake Zemke ended the first session in third with a 1:26.506.Fourth fastest this morning was Foremost Ducati’s Larry Pegram.Pat Clark Motorsports’ Ben Bostrom was fifth, over half a second clear of Josh Waters, the young Australian riding a Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000 in his first visit to the Birmingham circuit. Waters led teammate Blake Young by .034 of a second this morning.Eric Bostrom began his AMA Superbike comeback with the eighth quickest time on the Cycle World Attack Suzuki GSX-R1000. The younger Bostrom lapped at a best of 1:27.986 while putting in some 26 laps this morning.The Daytona SportBikes were led by Graves Motorsports Yamaha’s Josh Herrin over his teammate Tommy Aquino.
