K&N To Sponsor Flat Track Series

AMA Pro Racing is proud to announce K&N Filters as the title sponsor of the newly named AMA Pro K&N Grand National Championship. The agreement includes a $50,000.00 K&N Points Fund to the expert riders, to be distributed at the AMA Pro Flat Track Awards Ceremony at the end of the season.

Dating back four decades, K&N Filters has been involved in AMA Pro Flat Track racing through sponsorship support to many of the top teams and riders. K&N Filters has more victories and championships than any other filter in the world.

“Association with the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship will bring valued brand awareness to our full line of products,” says Johnny Jump, Brand Manager – Powersports Division at K&N Engineering. “K&N has a long history with flat track and this is an excellent opportunity for us to become more involved in one of the most entertaining and competitive series in the country.”

“The history of this series with K&N makes them an ideal fit as the title sponsor,” said Mike Kidd, Director of Flat Track for AMA Pro Racing. “On a personal side, K&N was the primary sponsor during my rookie season in 1972 and now to have the opportunity to work with them again will be rewarding.”

Expert riders will now have a shot at the $50,000.00 K&N Points Fund, keeping riders competing hard each week to gain valuable points for year-end awards. The award structure will pay as follows:

Expert Singles Champion: $2,500.00
Expert Twins Champion: $2,500.00
Grand National Championship: 1st $10,000.00, 2nd $8,000.00, 3rd $6,000.00, 4th $5,000.00, 5th $3,500.00, 6th $3,000.00, 7th $2,750.00, 8th $2,500.00. 9th $2,250.00, 10th $2,000.00

The next round of the 2010 K&N Grand National Championship will be this weekend, May 29 – 30, with a doubleheader at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois. T.T. racing action can be seen on Saturday, May 29th and Sunday, May 30th will see riders race at the historic Springfield Mile.
