ST. LOUIS (April 17, 2010) – Justin Barcia closed out the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Lites East Series with a victory in St. Louis. It was a dominating performance for the Geico Powersports/Planet Fitness Honda rider from Ochlocknee, Georgia. He led every lap and pulled away to a commanding 15.4-second victory over Dean Wilson on the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki. Brett Metcalfe, on the other Geico Honda, rounded out the podium finishers. Newly crowned East Region Supercross Championship Christophe Pourcel was forced off the track on the first lap, got his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki hung up on a berm and was instantly a lap down. He raced a few laps before pulling off the track and heading for the tunnel. For Barcia it marked his second victory of the season and with Austin Stroupe missing the race to injury, moved Barcia to runner-up in the final standings. Metcalfe also moved past Stroupe to finish the season ranked third. Barcia ran off and hid from the start. “It was almost a perfect night and a great way to end the series,” Barcia said. “Everything just worked for me out there.” Wilson was disappointed that he couldn’t challenge for the win after he crashed on the third lap. “It was just one of those things,” he said. “I washed out my front end.
