Pascarella on Pole

LTD Racing’s Joey Pascarella (Yam) will start the season-opening SuperSport race from the pole position after setting fast time, then crashing in Thursday morning qualifying at a sunny, but chilly Daytona International Speedway.”The lap that I did, I didn’t think was that fast,” Pascarella said. “I was just riding around to be honest with you.” He added that had he not crashed after his fast lap, “For sure I could faster.”Pascarella said that the “lap that I crashed I was going to pull in.””I know I have quite a bit more speed in me. Hopefully it warms up so I can show it.  The track’s so cold and everybody’s having a hard time going fast.”Pascarella lapped the 3.51-mile road course with a time of 1:43.728 mins. The lap was nearly .7 secs. better than second fastest J.D. Beach of Rockwall Yamaha Performance.Beach was less than a tenth of a second in front of his teammate, and fellow former Red Bull Rookie, Cameron Beaubier, in only his third ride on a 600.  Last year Beaubier raced the 125cc World Championship for the Red Bull KTM team.LTD Racing’s Jake Gagne (Yam) and Tomas Puerta (Yam) round out the top five.
