#7 Says…

Press Release | February 25, 2010

The following is from Halbert Racing…

Beginning with the 2010 season Jethro Halbert No. 69 and Sammy Halbert No. 7 have formed a unique partnership that will see them as team mates once again racing out of the same truck, with their Dad Willy Halbert turning the wrenches, with assistance from Rob Mclendon.

Armed with 2009 & 2010 Woody Kyle Racing/Frederickown Yamaha/Kings Kustoms YZ 450’s Jethro & Sammy Halbert are ready to do battle at the all new Daytona Short Track on March 3rd & 4th. The team has done great work in the off season and are more prepared than ever. Jethro won the NW Extreme Indoor Flat Track Pro class Championship and also won day two of the Las Vegas Championship indoor short track races this winter. Sammy has recovered nicely from the 2009 Pomona, CA GNC Finale’ where he broke his left leg, then still managed to come from behind and place third which earned him the 2009 Overall Grand National Championship and a single digit number.

“My performance has improved dramatically since I began working closely with Graham Crossfit at the beginning of the 2009 season, Our training program gives me the confidence that I will be there at the end of every race, broken leg or not.” said Sammy. ” I am really excited about having big Bro Jethro on the team he will be a huge asset, and I am looking forward to seeing his results continue to improve now that he is on our program.”

Jethro had this to say “I am really happy to be back on the family team, obviously Sam & my Dad have a good program going and I am looking forward to working with them and all of the teams sponsors. Last year was really tough because of some unfortunate accidents that happened in front of me causing injuries that had me sidelined for most of the season. I am really excited to get back out there and get some results.”

The teams key Singles series sponsors largely remain the same as last year with Woody Kyle Racing building the engines and Fredericktown Yamaha providing parts support. Joe Mathews of Kings Kustoms does all the custom paint work and the team will once again base out of their Cincinatti, OH shop during the summer months. We also have a few new sponsors that have stepped up in these tough economic times to help keep things rolling for the team. With the latest coming from NW road racing Legend Mike Sullivan of www.sullivanraceschool.com

The Halbert Bros. Racing teams next race will be the opening round of the All Star National Flat Track series in Savannah, GA February, 27th. Then it’s onto Florida for all of the Bike week races.
