The FIM released the 2010 World Superbike schedule today with the series set to consist of 13 rounds – one less than this year with the demise of the Losail round in Qatar. The rest of the schedule remains mostly the same, except for the fact that the season-ending Portuguese round in Portimao will move to the second race of the series – a month after the opener in Australia.The Australian round will take place at Phillip Island on February 28 with a month break before round two in Portugal. From there the series stays in Europe for the Spanish round (Valencia), the Dutch round (Assen) and the Italian round (Monza). Then the series heads to South Africa for the Kyalami round on May 9 with Miller Motorsports Park in Utah hosting the seventh round two weeks later on May 31.After Miller the series goes back across the Atlantic to Europe for the San Marino round in Misano with the Czech Republic (Brno) hosting the ninth round as they swap dates with Donington Park. Brno will be held on July 11 with Donington slated for August 1.The Nurburgring again gets the German round on September 5 with Imola and Magny-Cours rounding out the season in on successive weekends, September 26 and October 3.This year’s series won’t conclude until the Portimao race on October 25.The provisional World Superbike calendar is as follows:February 28 – Australia (Phillip Island)March 28 – Portugal (Portimao)April 11 – Spain (Valencia)April 25 – Netherlands (Assen)May 9 – Italy (Monza)May 16 – South Africa (Kyalami)May 31 – United States (Salt Lake City)June 27 – San Marino (Misano)July 11 – Czech Republic (Brno)August 1 – Great Britain (Donington Park)September 5 – Germany (Nurburgring)September 26 – Italy (Imola)October 3 – France (Magny-Cours)
