Taddy Wins South Carolina EnduroCross

Blazusiak moved his KTM around 10-time National Trials Champion, Geoff Aaron, at the start of the race and never looked back, finishing the eight-lap race with a half-lap lead.

Zip-Ty Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder pushed Blazusiak for the first three laps of the race, but at the halfway mark Blazusiak managed to find his rhythm and leave the pack behind.

Perhaps the most inspiring ride of the night came from the Christini-mounted Aaron, who grabbed the holeshot in the main event but then bungled the first log crossing, allowing most of the field to pass, which dropped him from first to about eighth. Aaron, who had won his heat race earlier in the day, along with Blazusiak and Gruffunder, worked traffic with expert precision and eventually found himself in third behind Gruffunder, nearing the end of the race. Then, when Gruffunder made a mistake in the wood pile, Aaron moved into second place where he would ultimately finish.

Gruffunder finished the race in third, giving him his second-straight podium finish, while Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Damon Huffman finished fourth after starting near the back of the pack. Lucas Oil Kawasaki’s Colton Haaker was fifth with Northland Kawasaki’s Jamie Lanza sixth.

Results: 1. Taddy Blazusiak (KTM); 2. Geoff Aaron (Chr); 3. Cory Graffunder (Hus); 4. Damon Huffman (Kaw); 5. Colton Haaker (Kaw); 6. Jamie Lanza (Kaw); 7. Kyle Redmund (Yam); 8. Mike Brown (KTM); 9. Jason Raines (Yam); 10. Gary Sutherlin (Hus); 11. Eric Rodgers (Yam).
