Boost Mobile/AmPm/Monster Energy/Troy Racing Yamaha’s Jason Lawrence was sentenced to 365 days in the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta, California, yesterday, after the 22-year-old motocrosser was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of battery with serious bodily injury, and one count of mayhem.Lawrence was sentenced by Judge Judith Clark at the Riverside County Court just 46 days after finishing third in the AMA National Motocross round in Washougal, Washington. Lawrence also very nearly won the Daytona Supercross in March before fading to a second-place finish. The charges stem from a fight in which Lawrence assaulted a friend with that person’s ear being partially bitten off – thus the mayhem charge. The 2008 Western Regional Supercross Champion was given two days off for time already served and now owes 363 days to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
