Young Quick In Morning Session

Suzukis took the top four spots in this morning’s final practice session leading to this afternoon’s qualifying for the AMA American Superbike class at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and the fastest of them was the Yoshimura Suzuki of Blake Young.Young lapped at 1:25.090 to sneak ahead of Jordan Motorsports’ Aaron Yates and his 1:25.117 with the top seven within a second of the top spot. Mat Mladin rode his Yosh GSX-R1000 to the third best time, some .3 of a second ahead of his teammate Tommy Hayden.The first of the non-Suzukis was the Ducati of Larry Pegram with the Ohioan besting the first of the factory Yamahas ridden by Josh Hayes. Then came yestesday’s fast man Jake Holden on the Corona Honda with Yamaha’s Ben Bostrom and National Guard Suzuki’s Geoff May rounding out the top 10.
