A selection committee made up of the FIM, Dorna, and IRTA has chosen 27 teams, 41 riders, to take part in next year’s inaugural Moto2 class for Honda-powered 600’s in prototype chassis.Ten teams were placed on a reserve list and 10 more teams were refused entry, the FIM said in a press release issued Saturday morning at the Catalunya Grand Prix. The teams were not named, thought it’s believed that Kenny Roberts’ proposed team was among those accepted. Now the teams have until the October 4 Portuguese Grand Prix to confirm the details of their entry and provide their team structure, machines, and contracted riders. Further decisions on the teams will be made based on that information.Moriwaki Engineering unveiled their Moto2 entry, seen above, at the Japanese Grand Prix in April. The FIM said they would accept a “significantly larger” entry than the current 250cc class because of the interest in the class.
