Kentucky’s Frankie Lee Gillim was one of several riders who fell victim to the brief rain showers during the SuperSport race at Road Atlanta.Gillim was exiting the right hand turn seven, before heading down the long back straight, when the rear end of his Honda CBR600RR stepped out without warning on the fourth of 14 laps. As this photo sequence shows, Gillim was thrown over the highside. He landed on his right side and back and rolled off the track.Gillim was the third of three riders to fall in turn six. House of Kawasaki’s Dustin Dominguez was the first to high-side, followed by Rockwall Honda’s Lloyd Worrell and Gillim. Monster Energy Attack Kawasaki’s Leandro Mercado fell one turn earlier.Following the spate of crashes, the race was red-flagged and only re-started once the rain stopped and the track was mostly dry.Mercado went on to win the 14-lap race by 2.893 secs. over Team Zyvax’s Joshua Day (Yam) and LTD Racing’s Joey Pascarella.
