Stiggy Honda’s John Hopkins has taken himself out of the Dutch round of the World Superbike Championship after highsiding his CBR1000RR in the first untimed session at the Circuit van Drenthe on Friday afternoon and suffering a dislocated left hip. Later reports of a broken left femur were untrue. The Californian, who was readying for just his second World Superbike start, was transported to hospital where doctors put the injured hip back in place. His team was unwilling to put an approximate recovery time on his injury until they have more medical details in hand.
