Press Release | March 6, 2009

The following is a release from Dunlop:Dunlop Motorcycle Tires is pleased to announce that it will step up support at the amateur national series of races in the 2009 season, starting with the Lake Whitney, TX event that runs from March 8 through 14. Lake Whitney kicks off the 2009 Amateur national series, and Dunlop personnel will be on hand at the major national amateur-racing event this year to assist Dunlop competitors with their tire needs.Dunlop’s support of the Live timing system will give amateur racing enthusiasts across the U.S. and around the world the opportunity to view timing, scoring and race results as they are recorded and will be featured online throughout the week of Lake Whitney competition. In addition to online support, Dunlop is also making race results and times available trackside at Lake Whitney, sponsoring the distribution of results to riders, families and fans.

“Dunlop sponsored this great program at the Mini O’s national last year and we were very pleased with the results,” said Dunlop Tires Motorcycle Vice President Mike Buckley. “We are pleased to extend our support to other events in 2009. Dunlop is on the ground at amateur racing competitions around the country all year supporting young riders and their families via the Dunlop Tire Support Program, but there are many family members, friends and enthusiasts who can’t make it to the event for the whole five days, so this program can keep people plugged in.”Transponders will be fitted to every race bike and the data recorded will instantly be viewable on the Web site. The online timing system is easily accessible and means nobody has to miss any of the action packed racing that we have seen all year. It doesn’t matter where people are in the world, anyone will be able to get online and watch the racing results as they happen.Live timing for Lake Whitney will be displayed at http://whitney09.tracksideresults.com/liveresults.asp during the entire event.
