The organizers of the Dakar Rally have announced that 49-year-old Pascal Terry was found dead last night. The French motorcyclist was found in a hard to reach area some 50 feet from his motorcycle. He had taken his helmet off and had sought shade and he had food and water with him, according to event organizers.

The Pampa Province police and authorities will now carry out the necessary legal investigation in order to determine the causes of the biker’s death, organizers said in a release.
