Dudek, Gosselaar Share A Day In The Dirt Win

There was a record turnout at Los Angeles County Raceway in Palmdale, California, November 28-30, for the 11th Annual A Day In The Dirt Grand Prix, and Honda riders Ryan Dudek and Drew Gosselaar were both awarded the win in the event’s premier race, the Coup de Grace Survival Race.

Dudek and Gosselaar crossed the finish line side-by-side, and since a bar-code scoring system was used, neither rider slowed down for the manual scoring system. Although Dudek literally ran back to the scoring area first afterwards, the race was later officially declared a tie, and both riders ended up taking home the winning prize, a Troy Lee Designs custom-built surfboard. Third place went to Suzuki rider Blake Savage, who was followed across the finish line by Honda-mounted Dennis Stapeleton, and Darren Hoeft.

In other class action, Honda-mounted Kyle Summers and Bobby Bonds paired up to win the Moto-A-GoGo Pro team race, while former Supercross, Motocross and Supermoto Champion Jeff Ward teamed up with his son Brandon to win the father/son class.

Factory Honda motocross team manager Erik Kehoe topped the (40-44) Pro class, while former Supercross champ Mike Bell won the 50-Plus Expert class. Yamaha’s Kevin Foley claimed top honors in the (45-49) Expert class.

Veteran motocrosser Kyle Lewis won the North vs. South GP (also known as the Indian Dunes MX Park vs. the Saddleback Park rivalry), and in Vintage competition, Mouse McCoy won the Revolution Pro class and Shawn Palmer the Evolution Pro class.
