Borkenhagen Joins Troy Lee Designs

Press Release | December 8, 2008

The young Huntington Beach rider, Sean Borkenhagern, spent last summer getting his feet wet in the world of pro racing by attending all of the AMA motocross nationals in his van. With one bike, and his father filling the role of mechanic, Borkenhagen earned national number 85 for the 2009 season. Sean’s talent is obvious but his genuine personality, gritty determination and dedication to succeed in this sport are what really impressed Troy Lee and his crew. “Everyone on the team is excited about the addition of Sean,” says team manager David Pingree. Adding, “He’s got an incredible amount of natural talent. He just needs some experience and he will get that here with us. With guys like McGrath and Wardy helping out he has some pretty unique resources available to him.” Sean is equally excited to be a part of the TLD team. “Oh, man, I am just so stoked about this,” beams Borkenhagen. “It is so huge to have a good bike and a good team around me, especially since I’m new to supercross. I’ve just ridden the test bike and it is amazing. I can’t wait to ride my race machine.” This developmental program was made possible in conjunction with all of the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/ Honda team sponsors as well as Mid Cities Honda, which has been a longtime supporter of Sean. Look for the number 85 machine and all of the Troy Lee Designs riders at Anaheim Stadium on January 3rd, 2009.
