Raines Wraps Up East Hare Scrambles Championship

Yamaha’s Jason Raines wrapped up the 2008 AMA Eastern Hare Scrambles Championship in winning style in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, October 4. At the final round of the series, Raines rode off with the victory and the title. The Am-Pro Yamaha team rider finished 11 minutes ahead of runner-up, Husqvarna-mounted Scott Summers, who also won the Vet A title.

Glenn Kearney was the only rider who had a shot at the title other than Raines going into the final, but the Husqvarna riders was a no-show, making it easy on Raines.

Raines and AMA Western Hare Scrambles Champion Brian Garrahan will now go on to compete in the East/West Shootout in Davis, Oklahoma, October 19, along with any other rider that earned points in at least three rounds of either the West or East series. While a race winner will be crowned in Oklahoma, the Shootout does not pay points towards any championship.
