McCoy Joins MotoConcepts Racing

Press Release | October 17, 2008

MotoConcepts Racing (MCRMX) announced today that they have signed current Australian Woodstock Thor Honda rider Daniel McCoy for 2009. McCoy, a 23 year old from Camden, Australia, will join current European Supercross leader Ben Coisy, and Americans Jeff Alessi and Cole Siebler for the 2009 AMA Supercross and Motocross series. “We are excited to have these talented riders from France, Australia, and the United States join our team,” said team owner Mike Genova. “These are all very competitive riders who will represent our sponsors well on and off the track.” Daniel McCoy began racing professionally in 2003 with instant success in the Lites class, finishing in the top three for the Australian Supercross and fourth in the Australian Motocross Championship. McCoy narrowly missed clinching last year’s Australian Pro Lites Supercross Championship by just one point, to finish in second place. “To move into what many regard as the toughest two series in the world is great for Daniel and something he has always aimed for,” said his manager Paul Shahin. “His best riding is still to come. His biggest attribute other than his natural ability is his mental toughness, and I think that he will fit in well straight away.” McCoy is currently racing in the SuperX Australian Supercross Championships and will leave for the USA when his current Woodstock Thor Honda commitments finish later this year. Look for Daniel McCoy’s American Supercross debut with the MCRMX team January 3 in Anaheim.
