MONTEREY, CA, JULY 20: Texan Colin Edwards used the occasion of his re-signing with the France-based Tech 3 Yamaha to honor the special relationship between France and the United States. Just after noon, Edwards unveiled the one-off paint job of the YZF-M1 that he’ll race later today in the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, the 11th round of the MotoGP World Championship. The paint job uses the iconic stars and stripes, while adding an image of the Statue of Liberty, which was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. Edwards announced on Thursday that he’d signed with the team through the 2009 season.
