Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto claimed a wire to wire win in the opening moto of the Lites division at Freestone Country Raceway after working his way to the front in a crowded first turn.

The defending Lites champion quickly pulled away from the field and finished the race with a 14.751 second margin of victory over second place.

Villopoto’s teammate Austin Stroupe ran second during the opening lap but gave way to Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, who ran a fast pace to the finish to claim the runner-up position.

Stroupe held on for third, while Geico Powersports Honda’s Jake Weimer and Boost Mobile Yamaha’s Jason Lawrence finished fourth and fifth.
