Villopoto Captures Hangtown Lites Win

Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto repeated his nearly flawless performance in the second Lites moto at Hangtown, earning a 1-1 score for first overall.

Things were very different this time for Jason Lawrence, however. After a horrible start in the first moto, Lawrence was off to a good jump and stayed close to Villopoto, running second the entire race. Though he was in a much better place to challenge the Kawasaki rider, “J-Law” couldn’t quite match the pace nor stop Villopoto from gapping the field yet again.

Lawrence’s second place finish gave him third on the day while Dungey collected second with a 2-3 score.

Behind Dungey in the second moto were the Pro Circuit Kawasakis of Austin Stroupe and Brett Metcalfe, rounding out the top five in the moto, and for the day, respectively. Trey Canard charged his way through to finish sixth which tied him in overall points with his Geico Honda teammate, Jake Weimer.
