Stewart Now Three for Three

The first moto of the AMA Motocross class at Hangtown was a repeat of the Lites class – a Kawasaki led the charge wire-to-wire taking a huge victory. James Stewart of the Monster Kawasaki team is now three-for-three so far this year. He rode a near flawless race after checking out on the first lap and opened up a 30 second gap in front of his teammate, Tim Ferry by the checkered flag.

Ferry had a little work to do before earning the runner-up position. With an eighth-place start, Red Dog moved his way around Alessi, Tedesco, Cody Cooper, and had to battle with Red Bull Honda’s Davi Millsaps – who ran second for the first half of the race.

Millsaps held on for third overall and was followed by his Honda teammate, Ivan Tedesco.

Sean Collier was very impressive, and landed a fifth-place finish in front of Steve Boniface, who ran up front the whole race. Jeff Alessi, Ben Townley, Michael Byrne, and Nick Wey rounded out the top ten.
