Garrahan Victorious at OMA Indian Bluff XC

| November 20, 2007

Brian Garrahan, aboard a Moose Racing/Maxxis Yamaha had a “decent start” that he turned in to a win at the Johnny Signs OMA Indian Bluff XC near Millerstown, Kentucky. The Valli Construction Yamaha racer took the lead after an early race mistake by Chris Bach and he never looked back. Two hours and thirty seven minutes later Garrahan rolled through the checkered flag with a margin of one minute and twenty eight seconds over youngster Kaileb Russell’s KTM. Aaron Wegner followed Russell to collect the final podium position and lock up the series third place position by placing his Yamaha ahead of rivals Chris Bach and Adam Bonneur. Bach charged hard on his Cycle Shed KTM to place fourth ahead of the KTM piloted by Jordan Ashburn, while Bonneur lost time to a crash that left his Fun Mart Yamaha in sixth place for the day.

“Now I know how Jimmy (Jarrett) feels,” said Garrahan. “(He) gets to ride out front. Make it easy on himself.” Garrahan ran a clean race aboard his YZ450F, nicknamed “The White Ninja,” to close the 2007 OMA Nationals series with a solid win. According to fellow pro racer Alan Westerfield, Garrahan should be called “Uncle Brian” because “he’s a technical mud master. He showed us how it’s supposed to be done today.”
