Ryan Villopoto clinched the 2007 AMA Motocross Lites title with a second place finish in the final moto at Glen Helen Raceway, in San Berardino, California, today.

After winning the first moto, the Monster Energy Kawasaki-backed Villopoto ended the day with second overall behind second moto winner Ben Townley, who claimed his seventh overall win of the year with a 2-1 finish.

Townley grabbed the holeshot on his Monster Kawasaki at the start of the race and went flag-to-flag, while Villopoto passed Sobe No Fear/Samsung/Honda’s Trey Canard on lap two to move into second. However, by then, Townley was long gone.

Tonwley held a comfortable lead at the finish, with Villopoto finishing second ahead of two other Kawasaki riders: Brett Metcalfe and Austin Stroupe.
