Ricky Carmichael to ride Bercy-Paris Supercross

Shan Moore | July 12, 2007

According to Bercy Supercross rider representative Eric Peronnard, Ricky Carmichael has agreed to ride the Paris-Bercy Supercross in France this coming November. Peronnard is the liaison between the riders and the organizers for the long-standing event, and called Cycle News to tell us that the 15-time AMA Champion has inked a deal that will see him race his factory Suzuki in the Paris classic.

This will be the 25th year for the Bercy race, which for the past five years has showcased riders on 250F bikes, however, for 2007, the format has changed to an open format, allowing riders to compete on any size bike.

Last year, Frenchman Christophe Pourcel won the title of “King of Bercy” and his teammates claimed the coveted team title. So, it will be interesting to see how the US squad will fare with Carmichael in the mix.
