Juha Salminen Stars At New York World Enduro

| July 23, 2007

As the ’07 World Enduro Championship moved beyond the halfway point, the series arrived in Hancock, New York, July 21-22, where riders were faced with the hardest event of the championship so far. With each day featuring four laps of a demanding course, each including three extremely challenging special tests, it was business as usual for KTM’s Juha Salminen, as he claimed his ninth and 10th consecutive Enduro 1 class day-wins this season, despite having to work a little harder than normal for victory on day one.

Honda’s Mika Ahola repeated his double Enduro 2 class win at the GP of Italy to stand on top of the Enduro 2 class podium on both days, while KTM teammates Marko Tarkkala and Ivan Cervantes claimed a day win each in the Enduro 3 category.

In the Enduro Junior class reigning champion Joakim Ljunggren topped day one with Britain’s Tom Sagar claiming his first ever WEC win on day two.

KTM’s Mike Lafferty was the top-performing American riding, finishing fifth and seventh in the Enduro 2 class.
