Woods Battles To WORCS Win

| June 11, 2007

Monster Energy Kawasaki teammates Nathan Woods and Ricky Dietrich fought back and forth for the win at the Riverdale round of the Rocky Mountain ATV-Motorcycle/World Off-Road Championship Series in Toutle, Washington, June 10. The two riders traded leads at least six times before Woods took charge on the last lap to capture the win. Dietrich ended up taking the checkered flag 28 seconds behind Woods and almost three minutes ahead of third-place rider, Team Suzuki Off-Road’s Mike Kiedrowski.

Rain on Saturday left the Riverdale course wet and difficult, which brought out the best of Woods’ and Dietrich’s off-road-riding skills. The two Kawasaki riders took control of the first- and second-place positions early in the race and ran out front for the rest of the day.

For Kiedrowski, it was his best finish of the year.

Fourth place went to Red Bull KTM’s Kurt Caselli, who was followed across the finish line by series points leader Team Suzuki Off-Road’s Ryan Hughes, who crashed in the first turn.

Yamaha rider Bobby Bonds finished sixth, while Honda’s Robby Bell, Zip-Ty Yamaha’s Ty Davis, Kawasaki rider Derek Costella and KTM’s Justin Soule rounded out the top 10 overall.

In the Pro 2 class, it was Kawasaki Team Green rider Josh Morros taking the victory over Zip-Ty Yamaha’s Nick Brozovich. Taking third was Jonathan Davis on the Mach One Yamaha.
