Pearson Clinches Hare & Hound Title

KTM’s David Pearson clinched his first AMA National Hare & Hound Championship after winning a hard fought battle with Kawasaki Destry Abbott in Jericho, Utah, May 12.
Going into the race, Pearson wanted to finish ahead of Abbott to secure the championship before the long break in the series and the final round in October. The two riders battled back and forth for much of the race before Pearson took control towards the end, taking the checkered flag approximately 10 seconds ahead of the defending champ. After the race, Abbott handed over the number-one plate to his friend and long-time rival.
Finishing a remarkable third was Kawasaki rider Josh Morros, the hot young up-and-comer who rode a KX250F. Fourth went to Yamaha’s Russ Pearson, while fifth went to Honda rider Kendal Norman.
Quinn Cody, David Komo, Brian Brown, Carl Maassberg and Matt Henderson rounded out the top 10 overall.
